Hudsonian Godwit in the Fens of Churchill, Manitoba.

About me

I am in the Renewable Resources (Wildlife Biology) PhD program at McGill University, where I am co-supervised by Kyle H. Elliott and Paul A. Smith (Environment and Climate Change Canada).

For my PhD, I am working to further our understanding of Arctic and Subarctic shorebird diet and migration. I am particularly interested in the importance of overwintered berries to shorebirds arriving on the breeding grounds in spring, and how berries might help facilitate their long-distance migrations in the fall.

I completed my MSc in Environmental and Life Sciences at Trent University (Peterborough, ON) with Erica Nol, where I studied the phenology and movement ecology of American Oystercatchers breeding on the mid-Atlantic coast (with a brief bit on Piping Plovers).

About to release a recently banded and GPS-tagged Hudsonian Whimbrel at Christmas Lake Esker, Churchill, Manitoba.
